You may use nuts or any edible seed. We use the seeds from the pumpkins we carved for Halloween, this Pumpkin Seed Brittle is a favorite of my oldest. Always be very careful with candy and don’t let the kids be in the kitchen while doing.

Pumpkin Seed Brittle
a sheet of 40×30 cm
Ingredients:
- 2 cups roasted seeds or nuts or dried fruits
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- pinch of salt
Preparation:
- Prepare a baking sheet, cover with parchment paper or Silpat. Layover the seeds or nuts in a single layer and close together to each other.
- In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, place the water, sugar, and salt. Cook over medium heat stirring until all the sugar dissolve.
- Stop stirring and let come to boil. Boil until it forms a caramel-colored sauce. Stay in the kitchen, once it starts to get color, it can burn in seconds.
- Pour the caramel over the seeds and let cool completely before breaking and serve.
- Save in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
