Description

A traditional Chilean fruit dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 big ripe cherimoya or 2 medium
  • 2 navel oranges

Instructions

  1. Wash the cherimoyas and oranges and dry them.
  2. Cut the cherimoyas in half.
    Half cherimoyas.
  3. Peel the cherimoya starting from the cut edge, removing all the peel or skin.
  4. Chop the cherimoya, discarding all the seeds. Some people leave some seeds for the color contrast, but I don't recommend this if you have children. The seeds are poisonous.
    Chunks of cherimoya.
  5. Half the oranges and squeeze out the juice.
  6. Mix the orange juice with the cherimoya pieces. Stir.
    Juicing oranges.
  7. Refrigerate until serving or serve immediately.

Notes

This dessert is best made and eaten. It can be refrigerated for a few hours but loses flavor and texture.
