Green beans have never been my favorite vegetable, but as they came in the basket of the week from the Farm Share (Plant it Forward), I started thinking how I use to eat them as a girl, and I remembered my grandfather who is a lover of garlic, you may remember when it was super trendy eating garlic because it was excellent for your health, the best news he ever heard, my grandfather recommend eating whole garlic, a whole tooth every day, the horror!. So I arrive at this Garlicky Green Beans.
What it was super delicious and I loved it, was eating a steak made pan-fried with garlic. My grandmother also made this version of green beans that was the same thing … this came out so delicious, I could not believe the flavor.

Garlicky Green Beans
4 people
Ingredients:
- 500 grams (1 lb.) of green beans
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped garlic
- 1/2 package of finely chopped parsley, 1/2 cup
- lemon juice
- salt and pepper
Preparation:
- Wash and drain the green beans, trim the ends if you want, I do.
- Cook the beans in boiling salted water, wait until water starts to boil add the beans and cook for 2-4 minutes or steamed for 8-10 minutes. Put in ice water to stop cooking and prevent it from changing color.
- Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes until it begins to brown slightly. Add beans, parsley, pepper and a squeeze of lemon juice, stir and taste. Add salt to taste.
- Serve immediately.
Note: I sometimes do it with half butter and half vegetable oil or oil alone.
